My role for this piece was that of Radio Sports Presenter and Sports Scripts Editor. This meant I had to write and edit the sports scripts so that it flowed coherently for the live broadcast. I also sourced an interview with England U 17’s Player Emily Ramsay and her Mum. I conducted and recorded the interview myself and then edited the audio so that it could be used as part of our live broadcast. Unfortunately, Emily and her Mum were not available for a face to face interview due to their tight schedules to the interview was recorded in the radio studio. I’m aware that these types of recordings don’t offer the best audio quality but at the time this was the only option I had available to me.
The original interview was around thirty minutes long which meant that I needed to blend and edit several clips together in order to make a shorter more coherent audio clip in order to fit our timings, which I believe I did. Throughout the editing process, I used a variety of techniques within adobe audition in order to obtain an appropriate audio clip. I did this by blending other segments of the interview in together to make one clip. Trimming clips in order to remove unnecessary breaks in speech or elongated pauses. And finally fading multiple clips into one another so that it sounded like one answer as opposed to multiple clips thrown together. I believe I did this to a respectable standard despite a lack of experience using programmes such as Audition I believe that over the course of the Newsday’s I have become more than competent using editing software’s and can navigate them
